About Me
I work from an integrative therapeutic framework, which means that I apply knowledge and techniques from multiple schools of psychology and other disciplines to help my clients meet their goals. Some of these methods are empirically supported, some are more practical, and other are innovative.
In addition to my practice, I am the Assistant Director of Counseling & Training at the University of Portland, and I teach in the graduate Counselor Education program at Portland State University. I saw my first counseling client in 2002, and became licensed as a psychologist in Washington in 2009 and in Oregon in 2013.
I completed my undergraduate degree in psychology at Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, Ohio, my doctorate in counseling psychology at the University of Missouri - Kansas City, and my internship and post-doctoral residency at the University of Delaware. After my residency, I worked as lead psychologist at Washington State University Vancouver Counseling & Testing Services until fall of 2012 when I started at UP.
In my free time I enjoy music, politics, brewing coffee, and spending time with my wife and friends.
